…well, I guess I wasn’t. But anyway… I’ve repottet my chilis and I’m a bit curious if they will survive the ordeal.
They look fine, for now, though:

Well, who thought that was dead anyway?
It seems infocom had a second shot in the gun, just never quite made it, a shame!
I’ve been reading a lot of science fiction these last months. I began with Dune. both the new ones by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson and the old original ones. It blows my mind away how cool that universe is! Then I found Peter F. Hamilton and I discovered both the Confederation, the Commonwealth and Greg Mandel. I finished “The Dreaming Void” a couple of weeks ago and am now , impatiently, waiting for “The Temporal Void”. While waiting I’m reading Kevin J. Anderson’s “Saga of the Seven Suns“, not as good as his stuff with Brian Herbert, but surely worth a read! And I have a trilogi in reserve, in case Peter F Hamilton takes his time, Elizabeth Moon’s Serano Trilogi, can’t wait to see what thats all about!
Got a new laptop the other day. A Dell XPS M 1330. It was delivered with Vista but that was soon fixed! A Debian netinstall CD and it was humming along happily after a few hours 🙂
It was more or less effortless to get all the hardware running under debian. Card-reader, Nvidia graphics, Intel wifi, stuff just worked… I bit boring actually… The only challenge was the fingerprint-reader and that quickly stopped being a challange after I discovered fprint , theres even a .dep in experimental. It integrates nicely in PAM.
I think the iwl module underperformes a bit, but rumor has it that it should be fixed in kernel 2.6.25 (which has just been released).
I think I have found all the errors from importing my old blog…. So wordpress it is, from now on…
